ORCID launchSu investigación se desarrolla dentro de la Sedimentología y Geomorfología del Cuaternario y se centra en comprender los procesos de generación y transferencia de sedimento a lo largo de cuencas fluviales y sistemas marinos. Tiene espacial interés en el estudio de proveniencia de sedimento y su relación con modificaciones geomorfológicas producto del cambio climático actual. El rápido deterioro de la criósfera en los Andes centrales de Chile ha motivado a Tania a desarrollar proyectos de investigación centrados en el estudio de cuencas de montaña para reconstruir el ajuste del paisaje ante el retroceso glacial a través de una mirada que combina sedimentología, geomorfología, biogeoquímica, ciencias del suelo y ecología. De forma paralela, y más recientemente, estudia la transferencia de sedimentos naturales y antropogénicos (plásticos) en cuencas de Chile central.
